Pleasant Poppies Trio

Today I'm showing you the card I've made using this sketch from Less is More.

And here's what I came up with:

The poppies are one third of the large Pleasant Poppies stamp from Stampin' Up!, stamped onto Whisper White card and then cut into equal squares. I used Real Red, Always Artichoke and Basic Black Markers to ink the stamp. The white squares were layered onto Real Red card.

The sentiment is from the Made for You set. It was inked up in Basic Black and then stamped off to make it lighter.

Products you will need to make this card:

Stamps: Stampin' Up! Pleasant Poppies, Made for You
Card: Whisper White, Real Red
Ink: Basic Black
Other: Stampin' Markers Real Red, Always Artichoke, Basic Black

CAS(E) The Open Sea

I love the coast and find the sea a wonderful place to recharge my batteries. The lovely stamp set - The Open Sea - conjures up daring adventures on the sea and is rather useful for male cards. When I saw this week's sketch from CAS(E) this Sketch!

I instantly thought of a way to use this set.

I'm really sorry about the quality of this photo - for some reason I can't get the brightness of the Whisper White card to show - and I've taken loads of pictures in different positions and light all to no avail. I stamped the globe image from the set in Tempting Turquoise on card of the same colour. (There is a close up below). I used one of the Window Frames framelit to create the hole, with the points representing compass points, keeping the theme of a sea journey. The ship is also stamped in Tempting Turquoise.

Here is a close up of the bottom of the card:

You can see the globe image more clearly now, and considering how intricate it is, it does stamp really well. The sentiment is from the stamp set Made for You, which I love using and you will no doubt see it again soon. The linen thread tied around the bottom represents the ropes found on sail ships.

To make this card you will need:

Stamps: Stampin; Up! The Open Sea, Made for You
Card: Whisper White, Tempting Turquoise
Ink: TemptingTurquoise
Other: Window Frames framelit, Linen Thread

Bright Blossoms Twinchie

Today's card is influenced by the colours from this week's ColourQ challenge.

I chose to make a twinchie (using a two inch square for the focal point).

I've used two of the stamps from the Stampin' Up! Bright Blossoms set. The tulip like flower is a separate stamp which I think works well with the vase. The two stamps were inked using markers in Tangerine Tango, Rich Razzleberry and Old Olive (I don't have a Kiwi Kiss marker). The images are stamped on a two inch square in Whisper White card which was then layered on to one in Tangerine Tango a little larger, which in turn was layerd on to one in Rich Razzleberry. The sentiment is from the Itty Bitty Banners set, inked up with the Basic Black marker. Here is a close up:

I then used a third stamp to give the inside of the card a little bit of colour. Again the stamp was inked using the markers.

To make this card you will need:

Stamps: Stampin' Up! Bright Blossoms, Itty Bitty Banners
Cardstock/Paper: Whisper White, Tangerine Tango, Rich Razzleberry
Other: Stampin' Write Markers in Basic Black, Old Olive, Tangerine Tango, Rich Razzleberry;

Flowers in Eggplant

I'm back with the Perfectly Preserved set, which I just love. The card and gift box were made for a friend whose birthday it is this week - I don't think she'll be looking at my blog....and I won't therefore spoil the surprise.

I've kept the layout simple using the jar and flowers:

I used the new Naturals White card stock, which is really lovely, and stamped the jar in black Stazon ink. The water was done using a Bashful Blue Write Marker and Bashful Blue Watercolour Wonder Crayon. I mixed them together with my aquapainter. The stems are in Old Olive, and the flowers are in Elegant Eggplant. Stampin' Up have also put together a set of framelits dies that work with the Perfectly Preserved stamp set - making cutting the flowers out so much easier. Here's a close up of them:

The sentiment is from the same set, inked in Elegant Eggplant, and has been cut out using one of the Bitty Banners Framelit dies. As you can see the sentiment fits this die perfectly.

I also made a complementary gift box for her present.

The Box was made using 12 x 12 textured cardstock in Elegant Eggplant (now retired). The decoration on the top is made using a sheet from the Designer Series Paper Stack in Naturals, with the corners punched using the Scallop Trim Corner punch. The flower is made using the Blossom punch and is finished off with a Rhinestone Basisc Jewel. Here's another view of it.

I made the tag using Naturals White cardstock, to complement the card, using the single flower from the Bordering on Romance stamp set, in Regal Rose and Gumball Green (I think!). The sentiment is from Curly Cute, stamped in Elegant Eggplant. The tag is then finished with some Scallop Dots Ribbon in Elegant Eggplant.

To make this card and gift box you will need:

Stamps: Stampin' Up! Perfectly Preserved, Bordering on Romance, Curly Cute
Cardstock/Paper: Naturals White, DSP Naturals
Inks: Staz On Black, Elegant Eggplant, Old Olive,
Other: Stampin' Write Markers in Regal Rose, Gumball Green and Bashful Blue; Bitty Banners Framelits; Perfectly Preserverd Framelits; Scallop Dots Ribbon; Rhinestone Jewels; Scallop Trim Corner punch; Blossom punch and Watercolor Wonder Crayons.

Autumn in a Jar

Hello Everyone

It's been a while since I posted something, but hopefully I'll be able to share more from now on.

I've made a card for two challenges, ColourQ and Less is More. Below are the colours for the ColourQ challenge, and Less is More's theme is Autumn. As it's the first time I've posted anyting I hope the card meets the criteria set.

ColourQ's challenge was to include these colours:

Here is my card, made using Whisper White cardstock as the base:

I love the  jar from the Perfectly Preserved stamp set, from Stampin' Up! The leaves are from the Confetti stamp set, and have been inked up using Write Markers. As I don't have Pear Pizazz or Old Orange, I've used Lucky Limeade and Pumpkin Pie instead. The sentiment is from the same set, but I've cut it out using the Bitty Banners Framelits. Here is a close up of it:

Stamps: Stampin' Up! Perfectly Preserved, Confetti
Cardstock/Paper: Whisper White
Inks: Basic Black (for the Jar)
